The Cuban Council of State passed a decree-law declaring October 6 as the "Day of the Victims of State Terrorism" resulting from the terrorist attack on flight CU-455 on October 6th, 1976:

At 11:21 a.m. flight CU-455, a DC-8 of the Cuban airline, reached the Seawell International Airport.

At 12:15 p.m. the plane left for Jamaica. In mid-flight it is shaken by two explosions: one at 12:23 p.m. and the other at 12:25 p.m. until it crashes into the sea. 73 people were traveling on the aircraft, amongst which was the Cuban junior fencing team. There were no survivors. 57 Cubans, 11 Guyanese and 5 North Koreans.

34 years after the tragic event:  CUBA DEMANDS JUSTICE

El Consejo de Estado aprobó el Decreto-Ley No. 279, el cual declara el día 6 de Octubre como "Día de las Víctimas del Terrorismo de Estado" por el atentado terrorista al vuelo CU-455 el 6 de Octubre, 1976: 

A las 11:21 a.m. llegó al aeropuerto internacional Seawell, un DC-8 de la aerolínea cubana de Aviación que efectuaba vuelo CU-455. 

A las 12:15 p.m. despegó rumbo a Jamaica.  En pleno vuelo dos explosiones sacuden la nave:  una a las 12:23 p.m. y la otra a las 12:25 p.m. hasta que cae al mar.  En la aeronave viajaban 73 personas entre los que se encontraban el equipo juvenil cubano de esgrima.  No hubo sobrevivientes.  57 Cubanos, 11 Guyaneses y 5 Norcoreanos.

A 34 años del trágico suceso:  CUBA DEMANDA JUSTICIA
