The Cuban Five – Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, Gerardo Hernández and René González – were arrested in 1998 for the “crime” of exposing terrorist activities organized out of U.S. territory against the Cuban nation which, to this date, have caused the death of 3478 people.

Screening of:  “Leonard  Weinglass on the Cuban Five – Workshop presentation National Lawyers Guild Convention, Oct. 19, 2002”.  Leonard Irving Weinglass (August 27, 1933 – March 23, 2011) was a U.S. criminal defense lawyer and constitutional law advocate.  He championed a number of liberal and radical causes and he served as co-chairman of the international committee of the National Lawyers Guild.

Followed by a presentation by Morteza Gorgzadeh of the Toronto Forum on Cuba.

• A small exhibition of artworks by two of the Cuban Five: Gerardo Hernández (humorous political cartoons) and Antonio Guerrero  (various paintings)
  
• An information table with materials explaining the case from all political/legal and humanitarian aspects.
