Petition to the Government of Canada - Lift the blockade of Cuba and to remove the latter from the list of states supporting terrorism;

We, the undersigned, residents of Quebec and Canada , request the Government of Canada to
1. Ask the representatives of the United States, through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to lift the blockade of Cuba and to remove the latter from the list of states supporting terrorism;
2. Reaffirm the importance of the human rights of the Cuban people, which must be respected and therefore denounce the blockade against Cuba as one of the main obstacles to the full enjoyment of the human rights of the Cuban people;
3. Act immediately to preserve the sovereignty of Quebec and Canada, by ensuring that Quebec and Canadian companies and other entities, particularly governmental ones, do not participate in the application of United States economic sanctions against Cuba;
4. Ensure that the relations maintained by Quebec and Canada with Cuba remain based on equality and respect for sovereignty, independence and the right to self-determination.
