Radio Journalists to Break the Chains of Global Media Dictatorship

Camagüey, Cuba, May 5.- Gathered in the headquarter of the Dirección Provincial de Radio (Provincial Directorate of Radio), Camagüey-resident journalists joined in the efforts to break the global media dictatorship on the case of the Cuban Five.

In the face of the silence that surrounds this subject imposed by the global media giants, ingenuity and professionalism have to prevail in the Cuban press in its effort to refute the propaganda and lies mounted by the U.S. empire and bring to light the truth concerning Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González, René González, and Gerardo Hernández, so that people become increasingly aware on this case.

According to the statement issued by local journalists it is necessary to amplify the message in favor of the Cuban antiterrorist fighters in the social networking websites, where millions of Internet users meet and share content.

This appeal is also part of the worldwide campaign "Cinco por los Cinco", which takes place on the fifth day of each month, to demand that U.S. President Barack Obama signs a presidential pardon and authorizes the release of the Cuban patriots, who have been 12 years imprisoned in U.S. jails.
