Dear Sisters/Brothers;

We would like you to know that there was a great vibe during our March 21 cultural/political act of solidarity with Cuba. And we have to acknowledge the presence of great cultural actors including Common Thread in the Streets, Wire Drummers and Django on steel pan! The participants enjoyed the musical performances that took us to African drumming, to steel pan of the Caribbean and a humble choir of folks whose love for peace with dignity is palpable! We truly appreciate your presence and certainly hope that we can enjoy your presence in our future works of solidarity with Cuba.

The honorable of Consul General of Cuba opened the gathering with a brief summary of the situation facing Cuba and stated that Cuba is a sovereign country and needs to be respected on an equal footing whenever it negotiates with the biggest military, economic power on earth that is the U.S..

Our informational table, t-shirts and buttons were scooped up, our e-mail list grew as the new participants left us with their contact info. And we raised 100's of dollars in contributions towards Toronto Forum on Cuba's work as well as Cuba Relief contributions!

To this day our humble, symbolic gestures of solidarity with Cuba for Relief Contribution has collected and directly sent to Cuba $8,780! We started this fundraising campaign after Hurricane Melissa which hit Cuba last November. If our efforts out of a small community-based group since Dec. can generate so much acts of love and solidarity for Revolutionary Cuba then we can continue our contributions by e-transfer to [email protected] [All the expenses for the e-wires are incurred by Toronto Forum on Cuba and not a single penny is taken away from the contributions to Cuba.]

The genocidal U.S. blockade of Cuba-read economic war combined with media lies- which is meant to suffocate the Cuban nation to submission is not only impacting lives on a daily basis but is now taking LIVES! The negative impacts of the BLOCKADE which now includes OIL, with the threats of punishment by the U.S. government against any entity daring to sell oil to Cuba, caused the first child's death in Cuba as the country was not able to obtain anti cancer medicine available in the U.S. market! And this past weekend a MASS MURDER OF PATIENTS BY THE U.S. GOV'T  at Amejeiras Hospital in Havana took place! How? Due to the collapse of the electrical grid in Cuba for 27 hours this past weekend; some 19 patients who were on VENTILATORS died even after 45 minutes that power was restored and all the efforts by the medical teams!

From Minab to Havana, from Beirut to Gaza, from Sudan to...; the imperialist aggressions against sovereign nations is bringing about deaths and destructions. Revolutionary Cuba's healthcare system has always been the envy of other nations in particular its preventative medical atttention. Under the pressures by the U.S. government some countries are cancelling their health cooperation with Cuba which not only deprives Cuba of the funds it needs but MOST CERTAINLY jeopardizes the lives of millions of ordinary human beings who relied on Cuban internationalist healthcare professionals.

While we see and feel the morale impact of the Int'l Convoy of Solidarity with Cuba that entered Cuba this past week from some 34 countries which is a testament that CUBA IS NOT ALONE; the gusanos(worms) have called for a rally to ask the U.S. gov't for "regime change" and "Trump, finish the job.". Undoubtedly they will be accompanied by all the pro genocide, pro war, Fascisti/Zionist/Racist elements of all colors from within a diaspora which has lost all a human being can feel for the pain of others!

That is why we ask for your presence and participation in exposing supporters of terrorist aggression against Cuba, Iran, Lebanon and Palestine! United Will Never Be Defeated! And Jose Marti's "Patria es Humanidad" "Homeland is Humanity" our guiding line.

We have witnessed that the terrorist U.S./Israel  imperialist aggression against Iran has faced a resilient resistance which has shattered the myth of invincibility of the barbaric imperialist system of death and destruction. As per Donald Trump after Iran "I have the honor to take Cuba" which is the ever imminent threat of military aggression on top of the genocidal economic/media war! 

Seyed Ali Khamenei's, leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the spiritual leader for millions of Muslims around the world- last words before his martyrdom that "never ever trust imperialist/Zionist forces" and Fidel's- the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution whose 100th anniversary of his birth we are celebrating- response to Option Zero "Resist, Resist, Resist" must be the watchwords of anyone who stands firm in defying the dictates of an imperialist system which is bent on death and destruction of nations' resources- material and spiritual- with no regards for the sovereignty of any one to decide and chart their own destiny!

For 3 months Cuba has not been able to receive one drop of oil from abroad due to the threats of punishment by the U.S.. It is meant to suffocate the Cuban nation to submission! The Cuban revolutionary leadership in close communication with the people,  through open nationally televised communication and/ consultation with the people at the community-based levels are charting their path forward. Mobilizing to resist the imperialist offensive against the conquests of the Revolution has been/is and will be the response. As Commander Juan Almeida Bosque stated, "Aqui no se rinde nadie!" "Here No One Gives in!".

For the first time ever Cuba mourned a child's life because the U.S. government did not permit the sale of cancer treatment medicine that the baby needed to survive. Cuba has approximately 3 times more per capita medical doctors than the U.S. and has undoubtedly the best ever public healthcare system in the global south and that is why Cuba has become a "national security threat" for U.S. imperialism!

The primary school children of Minab/Iran who were bombed  to martyrdom by the U.S./Israel are another testament to the brutality of a system that has no regards for the sanctity of life and therewith resisting and defeating the aggressors is the only option available. What we see is the continuation of U.S./Israel genocide in Gaza, Beirut, Tehran, Havana, Sudan and...!

From Havana to Minab, to Gaza to Beirut to... revolutionary forces are mobilizing internally and international solidarity-in particular in the belly of the beast of imperialist system in western Europe  and North America- gaining momentum.

The lead internationalist activists who initiated Gaza Boats to break the siege and were attacked, detained and assaulted by the Zionist Israeli apartheid regime with the mute response from the "western democracies" and the potential voice/act by any of the international organizations including the United Nations; are now onboard the vessels travelling to Cuba bringing solidarity contributions! 

The U.S. government's pressures and threats of punishment specifically against the Caribbean and Latin American nations has resulted in the coward cancellation of Cuban medical co-operations which not only hurts Cuba but certainly deprives millions of ordinary citizens of vital life saving medical attention. To top it off the latest victory of an openly Fascist tendency to the presidency of Chile is another sign as to how the shift to the right by the dependent neo-liberal leaned capitalist classes are evidence that the political independence must be accompanied with economic, social, cultural independence from the imperialist system or sovereignty loses its meaning!

An Iranian military commander recently statement that "our defense and defeating the U.S./Israel aggression gives more space to Cuba" and Cuba's international solidarity with Iran, Gaza/Palestine and the martyrdom of 32 of her sons defending the sovereignty of Bolivarian Venezuela are building blocks of bridges of solidarity that cannot broken by any inhumane, illegal, imperialist aggression.

Any organization/personality that attempts to demobilize and discourage unity amongst friends of Cuba and all the genuine anti war, anti genocide, anti imperialist forces by acting in a sectarian manner-like a recent demonstration in Toronto supposedly called to condemn the attacks on Iran a day after the Int'l Al Quds Day of Solidarity with Palestine using the name of the Canadian Network on Cuba amongst others- are condemned to failure and have nothing to do with the traditions of Cuba's internationalism and striving for principled unity!

That is why we see it our sacred duty to  tell the truths and conquests of the Cuban Revolution and the challenges it faces and how we can assist, in particular materially these days in our symbolic gestures. The Culture of life with dignity is overcoming the life under imperialist subjugation. We feel on our cheeks the breeze of international solidarity boats/delegations which are units of reinforcements to Cub's resistance; and witnessing a new Middle East that is being born with  the marches of millions in Iran-while bombs/missiles are falling- on a daily basis that: resist to defeat to win! 

And we have learned from the history of resistance of the indigenous peoples of this land against colonialism, imperialism and occupation that to save the culture of life is fundamental for survival. And to remove the bloody tentacles of U.S. imperialism we do our community-based work with Jose Marti in mind that, "Patria es humanidad" Homeland is Humanity".
