Condemn US attack on Venezuela and Kidnapping of President Maduro and Cilia Flores

Dear Sisters/Brothers,

On Jan. 3, 2026 U.S. state terrorism attacked Bolivarian Venezuela bombing civilian and military installations and kidnapping president Nicolas Maduro and his wife who refused to abandon her companion! We join Cuba in mourning the deaths of thirty-two compatriots who died in combat defending the Bolivarian Venezuela.

Toronto Forum on Cuba strongly condemns such barbaric attacks against a sovereign nation that has embarked on the path of deciding its own destiny without any imperial impositions; and will continue to expose further war plans by the U.S. government in Latin America and the Caribbean which was called a "zone of Peace" at the 2nd summit of CELAC in Havana in 2014.

Honor and Glory to Cuba's internationalist fighters - 32 of them - who lost their lives in fulfillment of the sacred duty of solidarity and internationalism of Cuban revolutionaries defending the Bolivarian Revolution and sovereignty of Venezuela against the invading Yankee forces.

We call for the broadest possible UNITED FRONT of all the forces, individuals and organizations to come together to stop the further warmongering and genocidal acts by the imperialist system led by the U.S. government and its allies.

Canada must take immediate action to:
•Condemn this clear act of war, demand Maduro’s immediate release, and denounce all U.S. aggression on Venezuela.
•Cut off any military support to the U.S. war on Venezuela, including the use of Canadian naval vessels, military personnel, Canadian-made arms, or military intelligence to support U.S. strikes.
•Rescind Canadian sanctions on Venezuela and resume diplomatic relations with Caracas

As we campaigned for the freedom of Cuban Five anti-terrorist political prisoners of the empire, advocated for the freedom of the Puerto Rican independence leaders, Leonard Peltier's unjust incarceration; we will persist for the immediate release of political prisoners of the empire Nicolas Maduro and Cilia Flores as we call for the release of framed-up Mumia Abu Jamal from the dungeons of the U.S..

Since the imperialist communications apparatus is already at work to cause confusion, spread lies and manufacture consent for their terrorist and genocidal acts from Gaza to Caracas; we shall ethically focus on fostering a culture of hope for humane solidarity by telling the truth; and use our energies to spread the word that the attacks on the Venezuelan Revolution is the continuation of Yankee Imperialism's Monroe Doctrine of 1823 that sees the region as its backyard!
