On Oct. 6th Cuba stands in solidarity with Venezuela on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the Crime of Barbados!  Because we are living in an era when a terrorist like Luis Posada Carriles, the co-mastermind of the explosion of the Cubana Airliner on Oct. 6, 1976, is hailed as a "hero", a "freedom fighter" and such words by the imperialist system's spokespersons and their media!

On October 6th, Cubans pay homage to the victims of terrorism.  The DAY AGAINST TERRORISM, when 73 human beings’ lives were lost.  Amongst the victims of this terrorist act -the plot of which, the State Department of the U.S. had full knowledge of, since it was in the making- were FIVE of the brightest young students from Guyana who had passed two national tests in order to become eligible for the medical scholarship offered by Cuba.  Imagine if those youngsters were alive today, they would have been in Africa saving lives fighting Ebola!

As well, amongst the victims of the explosion of the first civilian airliner in the western hemisphere, were the members of the Cuban youth fencing team who were returning to Cuba after having won all the gold medals at the Pan American games.  Just think about them being around and volunteering to go to Venezuela, Haiti or anywhere on the planet, for that matter, in order to assist humble communities with physical education.

But the imperialists should know better.  They should know that even though they have inflicted pain and sorrow on the valiant people of Venezuela by taking out two of their young leaders -Robert Serra and Maria Herrera- today their legacy continues in the persona of Carlos Alberto Cremeta, the Director of La Colmenita, the Cuban children’s theatre group!  And who is Carlos Alberto Cremeta but the son of the Cubana ailiner's pilot who perished in midair.  And thanks to the Cuban Revolution he has become, through the creation of La Colmenita, the United Nations' UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and trains children to make other children of the world not only happy and lacking emotions of revenge/violence, but also with a culture of humanity, peace and friendship amongst all peoples, which t the imperialists -through their trained assassins like Luis Posada Carriles- tried to destroy!

The power of truth and its brightness, sooner rather than later, will bring us the power of unity amongst the nations of Latin America and of the Caribbean, enabling  a response to these acts of violence and terrorism instigated by the empire and its allies.  And, it is in this spirit of solidarity and international awareness/awakening, that the anti-imperialist Cuban Five political prisoners of the empire along with their other brothers/sisters like Leonard Peltier, Mumia Abu Jamal, Oscar López Rivera and more, will come home to their loved ones as true heroes of humanity.

Take care and have a nice day.

Brotherly,

Morteza Gorgzadeh
