LETTERS OF CONGRATULATIONS TO DOLORES FROM THE CUBAN 5.

Dear Dolores Huerta,

On behalf of the Cuban 5, I want to send you our warmest congratulations for being a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom this year. No person is more deserving than you to receive the highest award given to a civilian in your country.

Because I have been incarcerated in California for almost 14 years now I have been able to follow you and your work and I must say that your enduring struggle for justice in so many causes is a tremendous inspiration to me and my 4 brothers on our road to freedom.  We are proud that we can say that you have been there for us over all these long years.

There are some in the progressive movement who have been timid about calling publicly for justice in our case, but that has never been you. You have never faltered in your support for the Cuban 5 and our families. We are forever indebted for that and we will always remember how you stood with us with honor and courage.

On this occasion of recognition to you Dolores, we applaud you and send you our love and solidarity.
