Brussels, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuba solidarity organizations in Belgium and Luxembourg demanded that the U.S. government authorize Cuban antiterrorist Rene Gonzalez to travel to Havana to visit his sick brother.
Rene, along with Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino and Gerardo Hernandez, is one of the five Cubans unjustly convicted in the United States for monitoring the activities of Miami-based terrorist groups. Although Gonzalez has already served a 15-year sentence, he has to serve three years under supervised release, during which he is prohibited from returning to Cuba and has to live in Miami, where his life is in danger. Since late February, his lawyer asked a federal judge to grant Rene a temporary permit to travel to Cuba and visit his brother, who is seriously ill. PRENSA LATINA
