This is a call for support for the next container planned for the end of March early April. The e-transfer email is [email protected]

HOW YOU CAN HELP CUBA

Comrades and friends, Sisters and Brothers:
We write you, knowing that you support the Cuban Revolution, and we also assume that you will want to do something where you are in Canada to support that ongoing Revolution, especially now that Cuba faces US imperialism’s greatest threat in decades.
Here’s how you can do that while you also imagine packing your bags for your next trip to the island nation.
As is explained more fully in the Project attachment (Containers 4 Cuba), three retired UNIFOR (CAW Canada); Ben Lefebvre [CAW 599], Colin Argyle [CAW 303 and 222] and Ken Luckhardt
[CAW National Representative, Education and International departments] are members of the Calixto Garcia Solidarity Brigade, which annually takes Canadians to Cuba to see and study the
successes of the Revolution and to better understand the current issues which need domestic and international attention.
It was at the end of the Brigade in 2021 that the three of us created the Containers 4 Cuba Project, which enables Canadians to easily and directly help meet the urgent needs of Cubans. This Project sends much-needed hospital supplies and medical equipment to Cuba.
The shipping containers are loaded at the Niagara Warehouse of Hope (a charitable organization) and shipped by rail to Halifax, onward to Havana, Cuba, ultimately arriving in the Eastern Provinces to be distributed throughout the Island where there is the greatest need.
The last fully Canadian union-funded container arrived in Cuba in the fall of 2025. The value of the contents was over $700,000. The cost to ship the container was less than $10,000. All of the medical equipment and supplies were donated by Canadian health care institutions.
To date, the Project has received financial support from four Canadian Unions: the National offices of UNIFOR, CUPE, Steelworkers, and PSAC, with additional unions expressing interest in the Project, and we are optimistic that these other unions will soon provide financial support.
We would like to state that we are not content to rely only on our ties with Canadian unions to support this Project.
We would like to encourage you to support the Project with us. You can do so by making a tax-deductible contribution of $20; however, we know you would probably like to donate more.
If you would like to help the people of Cuba, you can do so by sending an e-transfer to:
[email protected]
or by cheque to:
The Niagara Warehouse of Hope 46, Broadway Ave. St.
C/O Containers 4 Cuba.
Catharine's ON L2M 1M4
Please let us know you have made a donation and the amount so we can track this effort.
On behalf of the Cuban people, we thank you for your solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
With warmest regards, I remain yours in solidarity,
Colin Argyle

Dear Sisters & Brothers,

We would love you to assist us in our continued efforts by e-transfer to [email protected]

The devastating effects of Hurricane Melissa are still being felt throughout eastern Cuba, as mobilization of volunteers and resources to reconstruct, rebuild and bring life back continues with remarkable steadfastness. All while the U.S. genocidal blockade tightens its noose around the Revolution.

Revolutionary Cuba moved 750,000 people out of the path of the hurricane so that not a single human life would be lost! It accomplished this feat quickly and efficiently, the envy of any nation!

We have been seeing heartwarming acts of solidarity with Cuba from around the world, from labor unions in the UK to the friendly nations of Vietnam, the Bolivarian Venezuela and more.

Toronto Forum on Cuba has been fundraising along with other organizations. W
e have helped to bring friends of Cuba together in Cuba Rising and Hands Off Venezuela Hands Off Cuba events to seek contributions in Hurricane Melissa Relief. Our efforts since last November have resulted in raising  $6230.00 which have been and/or being sent directly to Cuba as a symbolic gesture of solidarity. We would love you to assist us in our continued efforts by e-transfer to [email protected]

No to the genocidal U.S. blockade of Cuba!
Homeland is Humanity! (Jose Marti)

Take care and have a nice day.

Whereas:
  • Canada is a signatory to the United Nations Charter and to other international conventions upholding international law, peaceful coexistence, and sovereign equality of states;
  • U.S. military attacks on Venezuelan civilians and the kidnapping of President Maduro constitute flagrant violations of international law, national sovereignty, freedom of navigation, and the fundamental principles of peace and self-determination, constituting an immediate and ongoing threat to regional peace;
  • Washington has directly singled out Cuba, Colombia and Mexico for military intervention;
  • The U.S. is waging an escalating economic war - with other coercive measures and threats - against Cuba, which has been repeatedly rejected by the UN General Assembly as contravening the principles and norms of international law, especially the right of self-determination; and
  • Washington's actions are a threat to Canada's sovereignty and independence.
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to:
1. Publicly condemn U.S. aggressions as violations of international law;
2. Refuse to participate in, support, or legitimize military, economic, or political aggressions against Venezuela and other countries;
3. Reaffirm and actively support the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, free from external military intervention;
4. Actively reject any and all interventions and military aggressions against Cuba, Colombia and Mexico;
5. Firmly oppose U.S. economic and other coercive measures against Cuba and vigorously advocate for their removal;
6. Deepen economic ties, trade and assistance to Cuba; and
7. Unequivocally uphold and promote the right of self-determination of the peoples and countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Let CuBa PlaY: Uphold the Olympic Charter and Ensure Fair Play for Cuba’s Athletes

Cuban athletes are being denied the opportunity to qualify for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games because the U.S. has refused to issue them visas. If this continues, an entire nation will be excluded from the world’s most important sporting event, not because of ability, but because of politics.
This goes against the core values of the International Olympic Committee, whose charter rejects discrimination of any kind and protects every athlete’s right to compete free from political interference. Denying visas based on nationality violates that principle and undermines the spirit of global unity that the Olympics are meant to represent.

Supporting this cause means standing up for fairness, equal opportunity, and the integrity of the Olympic Games. It means ensuring that athletes are not punished for geopolitical disputes and that Cuba is not shut out of competition.

11/17/2024

In the past 4 weeks Cuba has experienced two back to back hurricanes and two earthquakes which have caused massive material damages but a HURRICANE OF VOLUNTEER WORKERS in Cuba and international acts of solidarity are bringing joy to a human's conscience. And we are witness to the steadfastness of the cultured Cuban people who do not hesitate for a second to defend their achievements in healthcare, education, sports and culture.

Therefore it is our duty to contribute financially, even though it is a symbolic gesture of solidarity, to ease the pain of Cuba.

Please, if you wish to assist, make your direct financial contributions through the National Bank in Canada to the following accounts in Cuba:
