We would like to invite you to participate for yet another demonstration of solidarity with the heroic people of Palestine who are experiencing a genocide in Gaza which the president of Cuba has called it "a genocide of Dante proportions". (Please, see attached flyer.)
On the occasion of 171st anniversary of the birth of Jose Marti, Cuba's National Hero; President of the Federation of University Students of Havana stated in his speech, attended by thousands of students and the whole leadership of the Cuban revolution including Raul Castro-the historical leader of the revolution- that to be a follower of Marti today means to be with the "cause of Palestine".
In the aftermath of the International Court of Justice ruling which in a limited way sided with the arguments of South Africa that the genocide in Gaza shall be prevented; the lead imperialist power on the planet along with other past and present colonial states decided to cut/suspend founding to UNRWA, which in the absence of a Palestinian leadership, provides basic life assistance to Palestinians who have been expelled from their homes since the creation of Israel in 1948. The goal is to force these Palestinian refugees to give up their sacred RIGHT OF RETURN to their homes forever!
That is why we ask all the friends of Cuba who believe in Marti's "Homeland is Humanity" "Patria es Humanidad" to join the calls of millions upon millions of human beings who are not willing to be counted amongst the indifferent while a genocide is happening. The Palestinian Youth Movement, an authentic/inspiring/independent/inclusive and indefatigable leadership, is once again calling on us to mobilize and get out without any ifs and buts!
It is undoubtedly essential to know that during these demonstrations of solidarity with the people of Palestine, one will also find peoples of conscience who raise their voice in solidarity with Cuba against the genocidal blockade of Cuba by the U.S. government and its staunch ally-the Zionist apartheid state of Israel. Needles to say that the Latino/a friends of Cuba, more than ever, need to be present with their flags/banners/placards to join the struggles as the chants on the streets/gatherings have become:
Viva Viva Palestina! Viva Via Intifada! Globalize Intifada!
