Havana, Cuba, May 31.- Havana will host the Third International Meeting of Solidarity with the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly imprisoned in the U.S. since 1998, which is scheduled from June 12 to 13, with the attendance of participants from all over the world.

The main objective of this meeting, organized by the Cuban Young Communist League (UJC), is to spread the truth about Gerardo Hernandez, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez ––internationally known as the Cuban Five.

A member of the National Bureau of that organization, Leira Sanchez, told ACN that most of the delegates that will take part in this meeting, which will be held at the Julio A. Mella UJC National School, come from Latin America.

She noted that the program of the forum includes meetings with relatives of these antiterrorists to get updated information on their case and the international campaign on their behalf.

Sanchez explained that they also organized workshops to share regional experiences; to talk about the contribution of arts to the triumph of truth and justice, and humor as a weapon used by Gerardo; and to debate on the use of new information and communication technologies for their cause.

She pointed out that this is an excellent opportunity for the Cuban youth to share experiences, initiatives, and ideas worth spreading so as to win this battle, which is not only for the Cuban Five but also for dignity and freedom.

Sanchez mentioned that on June 11, the delegates will visit a small coastal town called Jaimanitas, in the outskirts of Havana, to appreciate an interesting communitarian project by artists Jose Antonio Rodriguez Fuster, which includes the piece “Olympus of the Five”.

She added that on the next day, they will attend a special performance at the National Theater, by the children’s theatre group La Colmenita (The little beehive). They will present the play “Abracadabra” (Hocus pocus). The message of the play is to show that there are many different ways to make people aware of the case of the Cuban Five and to fight for their freedom. (acn).
