Cuban Antiterrorist Submitted to Supervised Imprisonment, says Activist at International Forum on The Cuban Five Rene Gonzalez, one of the Cuban antiterrorist fighters held in the U.S. who was released from jail last October 7 is now submitted to “supervised imprisonment” said the coordinator of the International Committee for the Release of the Cuban Five, Graciela Ramirez, in reference to the three-year probation given to Gonzalez after he met his sentence. *Int´t Forum of Solidarity with the Cuban Five Ramirez made her statement in the context of the 7th International Colloquium for the Freedom of the Cuban Five and against Terrorism, which is taking place in the eastern Cuban city of Holguin with the participation of over 300 delegates from 47 countries. Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando González are serving sentences that include up to double life term plus 15 years for having informed Cuba about criminal plans hatched by Florida-based anti-Cuba organizations. In conversation with PL news agency, Ramirez described as dangerous the forced stay of Gonzalez in any US city or state, because the Cuban Five denounced “this terrible mafia that has murdered so many innocents.” The forum, which concludes on November 19, is being attended by delegates from Venezuela, Bolivia, Canada, Bulgaria, the United States and other nations. Renowned US activist Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey died in Iraq while serving with the US occupation forces, is attending the forum and will lead an International women´s march against war in the eastern city of Holguin.
