Havana, Cuba, Dec 27.- Cubans residing in Guatemala ratified their position to stay in touch with their homeland; to demand the ending of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade and the release of the five Cuban antiterrorists incarcerated in the United States.
Members of the Marti Association along Cuban diplomats celebrated in Guatemala City the New Year and the 52 anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, reported Prensa Latina news agency. The Association president Eduardo Gallo said they are proud of being Cuban and ambassadors of a people that has fought for half a century against the most aggressive empire in human history. He added they will continue working in favor of the release of Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, and René González, the Cuban Five as they are known internationally. The Cuban Five received sentences that range from 15 years to doble life term for monitoring Florida based anti-Cuban terrorist organizations. Cuban ambassador Roberto Blanco highlighted the necessity to continue strengthening relations between the embassy and those residing in Guatemala. (ACN). CADENAGRAMONTE.CU
