Latest Cuban 5 Legal Documents Now in Spanish

The 66-page affidavit describing the U.S. government's Constitutional violations of the Cuban Five's right to a fair trial through its secret payments to dozens of Miami-based journalists during trial, is now available in a complete Spanish version. It was translated by the Cuban translation service, ESTI. Also now available in Spanish is the Memorandum of Law accompanying the affidavit. Together, these latest legal documents, which were filed with the court at the end of August, request a new trial for Gerardo Hernández based on the government misconduct.

It is vitally important that the information contained in these documents go beyond the confines of the Court battle, so that supporters, jurists, law students, and  all activists in support of the Five can become familiar with one more aspect of the U.S. government's political prosecution of the Five.

Forums at law schools and other university faculties, public meetings, and media exposure are just some of the ideas for using this new evidence, which is contained in Gerardo's Habeas Corpus appeal, as well as that of all the Cuban Five.
