Obama Awards Medal of Freedom to Dolores Huerta

A few days ago President Obama granted the Medal of Freedom to Dolores Huerta, Co-Founder, along with César Chávez, of the United Farm Workers Union and tireless fighter for women and immigrant rights. Currently Dolores is the President of the Dolores Huerta Foundation.

With all our respect and love we congratulate Dolores for this well deserved recognition of her accomplishments in the struggle for a better world. 

We feel honored that such a remarkable person as Dolores Huerta presides on the Advisory Board of the International Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban 5.

She is one of the strongest voices in the U.S. advocating to the Obama administration for the freedom of the Five and for the reunification of their families.
