The East Coast tour of the book What Lies Across the Water with author Stephen Kimber ended on September 17 with an event attended by over 250 people at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.

Along with Stephen Kimber, was the noted scholar Noam Chomsky who explained to the primarily student audience about the roots of modern terrorism that emanates from the United States.

This tour was designed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the unjust imprisonment of the Cuban 5. It began in Washington DC, with three presentations by Kimber and a noon vigil on September 12, the exact day the injustice began in 1998.

The tour then moved to New York City, with three more presentations including one at the Union Hall of AFSCME Local 37.

The success of this tour can be seen by the attendance of many new people who showed up at every event to learn about the case of the Cuban 5.  The significance of What Lies Across the Water is that it is the first book written about the Cuban 5 in English that takes the information of the case, that has been so distorted by the US media, and presents it to the public in a readable, understandable and truthful way.  Ironically near the end of the tour, a scheduled interview with Miami NPR affiliate station WLRN was canceled because the producer said that this factual and researched book was "incendiary".

Kimber responded by saying "That email from WLRN, telling me that the interview was not going to happen, tells  you everything you need to know - and more - about why it was impossible to find an unbiased jury in Miami to hear the case of the Cuban Five. And why it is even more important today - 15 years later, with four of the five still in American prisons - for Americans to learn the facts about this case."
