Washington, Mar 16 (Prensa Latina) The International Committee to Free the Five on Friday announced a program of activities to favor their release, to be run in this capital between April 17 and 21.

Friends from many cities of the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe, in solidarity with the cause of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly held in this country's prisons, will travel to Washington D.C. to participate in the event, the organizations posted in its website.

On Tuesday, April 17, the group will carry out lobbying actions in the U.S. Congress and Senate.

On Wednesday, April 18, participants will hold a public event with Canadian author Stephen Kimber, who will talk on his most recent book: "What Lies across the Water?: The Real Story of the Cuban Five."

The documentary "Will the Real Terrorist Please Stand Up?" will be screened the same day at the Nyumburu Cultural Center at the University of Maryland, in which Migule Barnet, president of the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists, will attend as special guest.

On April 19, a community event in Takoma Park will announce the creation a new committee to free the Cuba Five, and screen the documentary "Esencias" (Essence) by Cuban filmmaker Roberto Chile, about the Cuban children's theater company La Colmenita's tour of different U.S. cities in October 2011.

Professor Piero Gleijeses will launch his book "Conflicting Missions: Havana, Washington and Cuba 1959-1976" at the Howard University's Blackburn auditorium, the call states.

On April 20, the opening of "Humor desde el Encierro" (Humor in Captivity) an itinerant exhibit of cartoons by Gerardo Hernandez, another of the Cuban Five imprisoned in the United States, is announced in a central gallery.
