The United Nations, Impunity and War / La ONU, la Impunidad y la Guerra

Resolution 1929 of the United Nations Security Council on June 9, 2010 sealed the fate of imperialism.

I’m not sure how many noticed that among other absurdities, the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, fulfilling orders from above, committed the blunder of appointing Alvaro Uribe (when he was about to complete his mandate) as vice president of the commission to investigate the Israeli attack on the humanitarian fleet carrying essential food to the besieged population in the Gaza Strip. The attack occurred in international waters and at a considerable distance from the coast.

That decision gave Uribe, accused of war crimes, total impunity: as if a country full of mass graves of the bodies of murdered people, some with as many as 2,000 victims; and seven US military bases, plus the rest of the Colombian military bases at its service, had nothing to do with terrorism and genocide.

On the other hand, on June 10, 2010, Cuban journalist and director of the Mesa Redonda national television program Randy Alonso wrote an article entitled El llamado Gobierno Mundial se reunió en Barcelona (The so-called world government meets in Barcelona), published on the CubaDebate website. The article states:

"They arrived at the pleasant Hotel Dolce in cars with darkened windows or by helicopters.

"They were more than 100 economic, financial, political and media leaders from North America and Europe, who came for the annual meeting of the Bilderberg Club, a sort of shadow world government.”

Like Alonso, other honest writers were following the news that managed to leak out from the strange encounter. Someone much more informed than they has been on the trail of these events for many years.

"The exclusive Club, which met in Sitges, was formed in 1954 after the idea of advisor and political analyst Joseph Retinger. Its initial driving forces were US tycoon David Rockefeller, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and Belgian Prime Minister Paul Van Zeeland. Its founding purpose was to combat the growing ‘anti-Americanism’ that existed in Europe at the time and to confront the Soviet Union and communism that was gaining strength in the Old Continent.

"Their first meeting was held at the Hotel Bilderberg in Osterbeck, Netherlands, May 29 and 30, 1954; hence the name of the group, which has since met annually with the exception of 1976.

"There is a core of permanent members who are the 39 members of the Steering Committee, the rest are guests.

"[…] the organization demands that nobody 'gives interviews,' nor reveals anything that an individual participant has said. The essential requirement is an excellent command of English [...]; there are no translators present.

"No one knows for sure the real scope of the group. Specialists of the body say that it is no accident that it always meets shortly before the G-8 (previously G-7) and that it seeks a new world order with a single government, military, economy and ideology.

"In a Newsweek magazine article, David Rockefeller said, ‘Somebody has to take governments' place, and business seems to me to be a logical entity to do it.’

"[…] banker James P. Warburg said, 'Like it or not we shall have a world government. The only question is whether it will be achieved by consent or by conquest.’

“‘’Ten months prior, they knew the exact date of the invasion of Iraq, along with what was going to happen with the real estate bubble. With information like that you can make a lot of money in all types of markets. What we’re talking about are clubs of power and information.’

“According to analysts, one of the issues that most worries the Club is the ‘economic threat’ represented by China and its repercussions on North American and European societies.

“Some specialists have demonstrated the influence of the Club on the elite with the fact that Margaret Thatcher, Bill Clinton, Tony Blair and Barack Obama were all invited to the Club before being elected to the highest position of government in Great Britain and the United States. Obama attended their meeting in June 2008 in Virginia, five months before winning the presidency; a victory that was predicted at the 2007 meeting.”

 “Despite all this secrecy, the press has revealed a few names here and there. Among those who attended the meeting in Sitges were important businesspeople such as the presidents of Fiat, Coca Cola, France Telecom, Telefónica de España, Suez, Siemens, Shell, Novartis and Airbus.

“Financial and economic gurus also attended meetings such as the famous speculator George Soros; economic advisors to Obama, Paul Volcker and Larry Summers; the flamboyant British Secretary to the Treasury George Osborne; the former president of Goldman Sachs and British Petroleum, Peter Shilton […]; World Bank President Robert Zoellic; IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn; Director General of the World Trade Organization Pascal Lamy; the president of the European Central Bank, Jean Claude Trichet; the president of the European Investment Bank, Philippe Maystadt.”

Have any of our readers heard about this? Has any major outlet of the written or spoken media ever mentioned it? Is this the freedom of the press that they talk about so much in the West? Can any of them deny that these systematic meetings of the world’s most powerful financiers take place every year with the exception of the one year previously mentioned?

“The military sent some of its hawks —Randy continues—: the former Defense Secretary to Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and his deputy, Paul Wolfowitz; NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and his predecessor Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.”

“Digital technology magnate Bill Gates was the only participant who spoke to the press before the meeting. ‘I’m one of those who will be present,’ he said and added that the meeting will feature several financial debates.

 “News speculators reported that the shadow powers analyzed the future of the Euro and strategies to save it, the current state of the European economy, and the trajectory of the crisis. They hoped to prolong the life of the patient using the religion of the marketplace and drastic social cuts.

“The general coordinator of the United Left, Cayo Lara, clearly defined the world that is imposed on us by the Bilderberg Club. ‘We are in an upside down world where democracies are controlled, guided and pressured by the dictatorships of the financial powers.’

“The most alarming piece of information revealed by the Spanish newspaper Público is the consensus by the members of the Club in favor of a US attack against Iran […] Remember that the Club members knew the exact date of the 2003 Iraq Invasion ten months before it happened.”

When added to all the evidence presented in recent Reflections, would it be whimsical to suggest that the war against Iran has already been decided on in the Empire’s highest circles of power? And that only an extraordinary effort by world opinion would be able to prevent war from detonating in the immediate future? Who is hiding the truth? Who is lying? Can any of the above be denied?

La ONU, la Impunidad y la Guerra

La Resolución 1929 del Consejo de Seguridad de Naciones Unidas el 9 de junio de 2010, selló el destino del imperialismo.

No sé cuántos se habrán percatado de que entre otras cosas absurdas, el Secretario General de esa institución, Ban Ki-moon, cumpliendo órdenes superiores, incurrió en el disparate de nombrar a Álvaro Uribe -cuando este estaba a punto de concluir su mandato- vicepresidente de la comisión encargada de investigar el ataque israelita a la flotilla humanitaria, que transportaba alimentos esenciales para la población sitiada en la franja de Gaza. El ataque se produjo en aguas internacionales a considerable distancia de la costa.

Dicha decisión le otorgaba a Uribe, acusado por crímenes de guerra, total impunidad como si un país lleno de fosas comunes con cadáveres de personas asesinadas, algunas hasta con dos mil víctimas, y siete bases militares yankis, más el resto de las bases militares colombianas a su servicio, no tuviera nada que ver con el terrorismo y el genocidio.

Por otro lado, el 10 de junio de 2010, el periodista cubano Randy Alonso, que dirige el programa “Mesa Redonda” de la televisión nacional, escribió en el sitio Web CubaDebate un artículo titulado: “El llamado Gobierno Mundial se reunió en Barcelona”, donde señala:

“Llegaron hasta el placentero hotel Dolce en carros de lujo con cristales oscuros o en helicópteros.”

            “Eran los más de 100 jerarcas de la economía, las finanzas, la política y los medios de Norteamérica y Europa, quienes vinieron hasta este lugar para la reunión anual del Club de Bilderberg, una especie de gobierno mundial a la sombra.”

            Otros articulistas honestos estaban siguiendo igual que él las noticias que lograron filtrarse del extraño encuentro. Alguien mucho más informado que ellos estaba siguiendo la pista de esos eventos desde hacía muchos años.

            “El exclusivo Club que se reunió en Sitges nació en 1954. Surgió de la idea del consejero y analista político Joseph Retinger. Sus impulsores iniciales fueron el magnate norteamericano David Rockefeller, el Príncipe Bernardo de Holanda y el Primer Ministro belga, Paul Van Zeeland . Sus propósitos fundacionales eran combatir el creciente ‘antinorteamericanismo’ que había en la Europa de la época y enfrentar a la Unión Soviética y al comunismo que cobraba fuerza en el Viejo Continente.”

            “Su primera reunión se celebró en el Hotel Bilderberg, en Osterbeck, Holanda, el 29 y 30 de mayo de 1954. De ahí salió el nombre del grupo, que desde entonces se ha reunido anualmente, con la excepción de 1976.”

“Hay un núcleo de afiliados permanentes  que son los 39 miembros del Steering Comittee, el resto son invitados.”

            “…la organización exige que nadie ‘conceda entrevistas’ ni revele nada de lo que ‘un participante individual haya dicho’. Es requisito imprescindible un dominio excelente de la lengua inglesa […] no hay traductores presentes.”

            “No se sabe a ciencia cierta los alcances reales del grupo. Los estudiosos del ente dicen que no es casualidad que se reúnan siempre poco antes que el G-8  (G-7 anteriormente) y que buscan un nuevo orden mundial de gobierno, ejército, economía e ideología única.”

            “David Rockefeller dijo en un reportaje a la revista ‘Newsweek’: ‘Algo debe reemplazar a los gobiernos y el poder privado me parece la entidad adecuada para hacerlo’.”

            “…el banquero James P. Warburg afirmó: ‘Guste o no guste tendremos un gobierno mundial. La única cuestión es si será por concesión o por imposición’.”

            “‘Ellos conocían 10 meses antes la fecha exacta de la invasión de Irak; también lo que iba a pasar con la burbuja inmobiliaria. Con información como esa se puede hacer mucho dinero en toda clase de mercados. Y es que hablamos de clubes de poder y de saber’.

            “Para los estudiosos, uno de los temas que más preocupa al Club es la ‘amenaza económica’ que significa China y su repercusión en las sociedades norteamericanas y europeas.

            “Su influencia en la élite la demuestran algunos con el hecho de que Margaret Thatcher,  Bill Clinton, Anthony Blair y Barack Obama estuvieron entre los invitados al Club antes de que fueran electos al más alto cargo gubernamental en Gran Bretaña y Estados Unidos. Obama acudió a la reunión de junio de 2008 en Virginia, EEUU, cinco meses antes de su triunfo electoral y su victoria se pronosticaba ya desde la reunión del 2007.”

            “Entre tanto sigilo, la prensa fue sacando nombres por aquí y por allá. Entre los que llegaron a Sitges estaban importantes empresarios como los presidentes de la FIAT, Coca Cola, France Telecom, Telefónica de España, Suez, Siemens, Shell, Novartis y Airbus.

            “También se reunieron gurúes de las finanzas y la economía como el famoso especulador George Soros, los asesores económicos de Obama, Paul Volcker y Larry Summers, el flamante Secretario del Tesoro Británico George Osborne, el exPresidente de Goldman Sachs y British Petroleum Peter Shilton […] el Presidente del Banco Mundial Robert Zoellic, el Director General del FMI Dominique Strauss-Kahn, el Director de la Organización Mundial del Comercio, Pascal Lamy,  el Presidente del Banco Central Europeo Jean Claude Trichet, el Presidente del Banco Europeo de Inversiones, Philippe Maystad.”

            ¿Lo sabían nuestros lectores? ¿Algún órgano importante de la prensa hablada o escrita dijeron una palabra? ¿Es esa la libertad de prensa que tanto pregonan en occidente? ¿Puede alguno de ellos negar que estas reuniones sistemáticas de los más poderosos financistas del mundo se llevan a cabo todos los años, con excepción del año señalado?

            “El poder militar envió algunos de sus  halcones ―continúa Randy― : el ex secretario de Defensa de Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, su subalterno, Paul Wolfowitz, el Secretario General de la OTAN Anders Fogh Rasmussen y su antecesor en el cargo Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.”

            “El magnate de la era digital Bill Gates, fue el único asistente que habló algo a la prensa antes del encuentro. ‘Soy uno de los que estará presente’, dijo y anunció que ‘Sobre la mesa habrá muchos debates financieros’.”

            “Los especuladores de la noticia hablan de que el poder en la sombra analizó el futuro del euro y las estrategias para salvarlo, la situación de la economía europea y el rumbo de la crisis. Bajo la religión del mercado y el auxilio de los drásticos recortes sociales se quiere seguir prolongando la vida del enfermo.

            “El Coordinador de Izquierda Unida, Cayo Lara, definió con claridad el mundo que nos imponen los  Bilderberg: ‘Estamos en el mundo al revés; las democracias controladas, tuteladas y presionadas por las dictaduras de los poderes financieros’.”

            “Lo más peligroso, que ha salido a la luz en el diario español Público, es el consenso mayoritario de los miembros del Club a favor de un ataque norteamericano a Irán […] Recordar que los miembros del Club sabían la fecha exacta de la invasión a Irak del 2003 diez meses antes de que ocurriera”.

            ¿Es acaso una invención caprichosa la idea, cuando esto se suma a todas las evidencias expuestas en las últimas Reflexiones? La guerra contra Irán está ya decidida en los altos círculos del imperio, y sólo un esfuerzo extraordinario de la opinión mundial podría impedir que estalle en muy breve plazo. ¿Quién oculta la verdad? ¿Quién engaña? ¿Quién miente? ¿Algo de lo que aquí se afirma puede ser desmentido?
