15 YEARS IN JAIL: TOO LONG, TOO WRONG! 'FREE THE CUBAN FIVE' EVENTS IN TORONTO September 12, 2013 is the 15th anniversary of the wrongful arrest and incarceration of the Cuban Five in the United States Free the Cuban Five Now! End the Injustice! 15 Years: Too Long, Too Wrong! We urge you to participate in this series of Toronto-area events in September as part of the growing
worldwide campaign for the release of every one of the Cuban Five from U.S. prisons without delay. René González, having completed his prison term and 1½ years of supervised release in Florida , finally rejoined his family in Cuba this year and is campaigning for freedom for his imprisoned brothers. Still serving extraordinarily harsh sentences are Fernando González (17 years, 9 months), Antonio Guerrero (21 years, 10 months), Ramón Labañino (30 years), and Gerardo Hernández (two life terms plus 15 years). Only through the loud outcry for justice by millions around the globe will this appalling injustice against five peaceful men be ended. The only “crime” of the Five was to peacefully protect their homeland, Cuba , from repeated terrorist attacks engineered in Florida . Their continued imprisonment is an international outrage. They must be released! You Can Help to Break the Silence About This Continuing Injustice Monday, September 2, 2013 March for the Cuban Five in the Toronto Labour Day Parade Together with members of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union, we will assemble between 8:30 and 9:00 am at the southeast corner of University Ave. & Queen Street W. with our signs and banners for the Five, then march west along Queen to the CNE grounds We will be wearing berets with the Cuban 5 logo. Some will be available at a cost of $10 For more information, contact Friends of the Cuban Five [email protected] www.freethe5peoplestribunal.org
