On Monday, October 10, Cuba will be celebrating a new anniversary of the beginning of its struggles for independence.
To celebrate this new anniversary the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Music Institute and the National Council of Performing Arts are preparing a Concert for Justice dedicated to the Cuban victims of terrorism and to the five Cuban antiterrorism fighters unjustly imprisoned in US jails. The concert will be held on October 10 at 8:30 p.m. at the Mella Theater in Havana. The line-up of the concert will be mainly composed by young artists graduated from the national system of art education who have won prizes in international events. Some of the names include Jojazz winner Ernesto Camilo Vega and his band, pianist José Luis Pacheco and his group, pianist Alejandro Falcón and his band Cuba Dentro, saxophonist Michel Herrera and his band Joven Jazz. The fusion music group Oggere will also perform at the concert. Enrique Nunez will be the artistic director of the concert. Tickets for the concert will be on sale starting October 7 at 2:00 p.m., at the Mella Theater. GRANMA
