International appeal for the return of the Five / Clamor internacional por el regreso de los Cinco

_ THE call from the International Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban 5 to send messages to President Barack Obama asking him to release the five Cuban anti-terrorists found a response in many parts of the world.

From Managua, Catholic priest and former Foreign Minister Miguel D’Escoto wrote to Obama asking for their freedom, thus joining the international initiative.

The Association of Cubans Resident in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, likewise sent a message to the White House asking for the return of the Five to their country.

In Brazil, in response to a call from the Pernambucano Committee for the Defense of the Five, hundreds of people sent emails to Obama demanding the return of Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Gerardo Hernández, Ramon Labañino and René González to Cuba, PL reports.

There was also a discussion about the five national heroes in the Venezuelan consulate in Recife, attended by members of the Pernambucano Committee and professors and students from the Paudalho Study and Popular Education Center. (SE)

Clamor internacional por el regreso de los Cinco

El llamamiento del Comité Internacional por la Libertad de los Cinco de enviar desde cualquier lugar mensajes al presidente Barack Obama para que libere a los Héroes, tuvo eco en diversas partes del mundo.

Desde Managua, el sacerdote católico y excanciller nicaragüense, Miguel D`Escoto, envió una misiva a Obama a favor de la libertad de esos luchadores antiterroristas y se sumó de esta manera a la iniciativa internacional.

En su carta electrónica, el padre D`Escoto afirma que las lindas palabras pronunciadas por Obama han sido llevadas por el viento.

Desde Moscú, el movimiento ruso prolibertad de los Cinco dirigió una misiva al mandatario estadounidense, en la cual expresa una enérgica protesta por la flagrante violación de los derechos de estos hombres, por cuya liberación abogaron parlamentarios, gobiernos e intelectuales de todo el mundo.

En ese sentido, Roberto Payano, coordinador nacional de esa cruzada de solidaridad con Cuba en República Dominicana, exhortó a escribir y comunicarse con Obama, para exigir que se haga justicia en el caso.

También la Asociación de Cubanos residentes en la ciudad boliviana de Santa Cruz de la Sierra envió un mensaje al inquilino de la Casa Blanca. El texto pide la vuelta a la Isla de esos patriotas.

En Brasil, convocados por el Comité Pernambucano por la Defensa de los Cinco, cientos de personas enviaron mensajes por correo electrónico a Obama, exigiéndole su regreso a nuestra patria, indica PL.

Además, se efectuó un debate sobre estos Héroes en el Consulado de Venezuela en Recife, al cual asistieron integrantes del Comité Pernambucano por la Defensa de los Cinco, y profesores y estudiantes del Centro de Estudios y Educación Popular de Paudalho (CEPP). (SE)
