Freedom for The Cuban FiveAn Italian delegation visiting Ciego de Avila reiterated its solidarity with Cuba and demanded the release of the five anti-terrorist fighters serving long sentences in the United States.
During a meeting with residents of a community of the central Ciego de Avila province, the members of the delegation were interested in the situation of Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Rene Gonzalez, and Gerardo Hernandez. The Five, as they are known worldwide, are serving long sentences for providing information to their country on terrorist plans plotted in the US territory. Luigui Mezzacappa, leader of the brigade, told Prensa Latina that in Italy the media does not report on the case of the Cuban five. He said that during his stay in Cuba he has seen the impetus of struggle of the people for maintaining the achievements of the Revolution, as well as the reality and freedom lived by the residents of this country.
