Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Jul 23 (Prensa Latina) A new solidarity group to promote the release of five Cubans imprisoned in the United States, was created in this central province as part of the global battle for their return.
The Association of Combatants From the Cuban Revolution in the municipality of Moron, Ciego de Avila province, put forward the idea, which aims to intensify efforts to support those Cuban compatriots from all sides. By September, Gerardo, Ramón, Antonio and Fernando will have been imprisoned for 14 years, while René is under supervised release for three years, preventing him from returning home. On the 5th of each month, Cubans in every corner of the island develop actions aimed at disseminating the latest developments of the case and conducting activities in solidarity with the Cuban Five, as they are known in the international campaign for their release. According to recent data, there are more than two thousand organizations and more than 350 solidarity committees for the release of the Cuban Five worldwide. PRENSA LATINA
